After Hours Calls
After hours calls should be made only for emergencies or urgent problems that cannot wait until morning. Calls about mild illnesses can usually wait until the next morning.
After hours, please call 206-368-6080. This is our main phone number, which will be answered by our answering service. The nurse or physician will return your call within 30 minutes. If you do not receive a callback within 30 minutes, please call our office again.
If the physician on call determines your child needs to be seen by a doctor before morning, you may be referred to the Children's Hospital After Hours Clinic or the Emergency Room at Children's Hospital.
Please have the following information available when you call:
- Your child's main symptoms
- Any chronic disease or health problem
- Your child's temperature, if he or she is sick
- Your child's approximate weight (for calculating drug dosages)
- The names and dosages of any medicines your child is taking
- Your pharmacy's phone number
- Your questions - it is a good idea to write them down.
